Promoveo Invites Interior Designers to KNX Open Day in London

The biggest challenge for further adoption of the KNX standard is without doubt to make the offering more widely known to decision makers and specifiers. Interior designers and architects are involved in the very early days of every project and are in a position to specify building automation technology when the budgets are being set.

Promoveo, together with the systems integrators from Controlfreax, invited architects and interior designers to an Open Day to see beautiful design and receive information over a glass of wine. The event took place in Promoveo’s offices in Chelsea, London, in the capital’s heartland of interior design and architecture.

More than fifty people attended the event from lunch time to early evening. The feedback was unison – interior designers love KNX for the design, flexibility, scalability and interoperability.

It’s a myth that designers and architects are reluctant towards technology, but they approach technology from an end-user’s perspective; it has to work all the time, every time and it has to be simple to use. Further what happens behind the scenes is of less importance, other than the confirmation that the wiring can be simpler and the physical KNX distribution board takes less space than proprietary systems. A further lesson learned from the event is that energy efficiency is on everyone’s mind these days and is a unique selling point for both Promoveo and KNX.

Promoveo will run this event on a quarterly basis and hope to see you next time.
